In case you haven’t heard, the Midwest is in the midst of a blizzard. Forget about the fact that last week found us enjoying days in the mid-fifties as our snow melted and our thoughts turned to spring. Winter made its comeback this weekend. Over a foot of snow has fallen in the past 24 hours, and it isn’t stopping. But I don’t mind. A fresh blanket of white feels cozy, and made for a guilt-free, lazy Sunday afternoon.

Today I’m snug in my studio, under a blanket, watching the flurries fall outside the window. I took a break earlier to play with the dogs outside. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to make a snow angel, which was one of the things to do on my Winter Bucket List. A bit later, I warmed up inside with a mug of spice tea. Have I mentioned spice tea here on the blog? I tried it earlier this winter, and have deemed it my “perfect winter beverage”. Also known as “Russian tea”, spice tea contains a citrusy, spicy blend of flavors that makes plain old spiced cider seem downright boring. The recipe is simple and quick to throw together. Pay no mind to the fact that it’s almost pure sugar. It tastes divine.

:: spice tea ingredients ::
1 cup instant tea
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 cups Tang
1 tablespoon ground cloves
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 cup lemonade mix

:: directions ::
1) mix all ingredients together
2) scoop 2 tbsp. into mug and add hot water
3) stir, sip and enjoy!

    Your snow pictures are beautiful.. not beautiful enough to make me wish I was in MN instead of AZ as I won’t trade the sunshine for any amount of pretty snow. Oh winter! Just you & Z wait, you’ll be in for a treat when you head down to the Valley in just a few short days! :)
