b*designs :: the green canary blog

When Theresa emailed me about creating a blog for her, I found myself getting to know a quirky and hilarious girl with a knack for writing and an obvious passion for life. We bounced emails back and forth over the course of several months, and I was thrilled that my design style was a great fit for the look and feel she wanted her blog to have. Theresa, a.k.a., the Canary, also commissioned artist Eliz Ong to create a collection of amazing, adorable, awesome, a+ illustrations to use in the blog design (yes, they are THAT cool). I went to town designing a lively and energetic (yet clean and functional) space for the Canary to write and share the account of her life. Which is, in her own words, “One girl, one boy, one cat, two birds, a sunny Baltimore apartment, a wee Honda Fit, a tight budget, some superfluous flesh, a handful of recipes, a shady urban garden, a digital camera, and lots ‘o crazy.” Theresa is a terrific writer and incredibly funny, so you should probably head on over to the Green Canary blog to check it out and say hello!
