cottage life {progress will be made}

Happy Friday, again. How did the past week go by so quick? Time is sure speeding along. I can hardly believe it’s Memorial Day weekend, and June is just around the corner. Oh my.

Anyways, this picture. I took it yesterday. It is, sadly, the current state of my garden. On the bright side, the chives are doing well! Ahem. Despite the fact that it seems I’ve forgotten my plans for a beautiful, productive raised bed garden, I’m here to tell you that progress will be made, this weekend, actually! My parents are on their way down right now, bringing along with them my dad’s tractor and a vision for a revamped backyard. We’re ripping our a few random gardens, and putting in some new sod. Sod! I love thick, green grass and can hardly wait to sink my toes into it. Before that happens, however, there is much work to be done. We will be replanting, moving, building, and landscaping our weekend away. I may be entirely exhausted by next week, but at least our backyard will be ready for some serious relaxation.

Here’s to a wonderful, fun and safe weekend for everyone. I pray for safe travels for those going out of town, and many tasty BBQ dinners as we kick off Summer 2010! See you next week, my dears.
