A few months back, I met with self-proclaimed “organizing nut”, Maren Dalida. Maren and I went to college together, and when I heard she was doing a bit of professional organizing on the side, I knew we needed to reconnect. Maren also authors the blog ProperPlaceOrganizing, and she definitely has a knack for creating order out of chaos.
When Maren and I met to discuss the studio, and come up with a plan for whipping it into shape, it was obvious to both of us that the space could be better used. Not only does this small room need to contain my desk (which holds my computer, printer and scanner) it also needs to have a workspace where I can cut, craft and create. On top of that, I wanted the studio to be self-contained, so all my office supplies, sewing notions, fabric, photo props, and papergoods could be neatly organized in this one room. Yes, it was a tall order, but we were both up for the challenge.
After a couple conversations, and several emails bounced back and forth, we had a master plan in place. This week has found me painting, building shelves, running to IKEA and Home Depot, clearing out the closets, doing a bit of sorting, and preparing for tomorrow. Because tomorrow, Maren will be arriving at the cottage bright and early, and we will officially be putting our plan into action. Wish us luck!

I LOVE MAREN! She will change your life!
