A wreath is hung on our front door, the nativity set sweetly on the mantle, and the stockings hung with care. In the dining room, my simple centerpiece is a row of red and green apples. Nearby, a stack of red and green antique books with an apple atop carries on the theme. Our tree is adorned with red and gold baubles and balls, and skirted with a rarely used red table cloth (really!).

A basket of pinecones has been scented with cinnamon and pine oil for a fragrant and fun item of decor. The chair in the corner is waiting with a cozy blanket and a red book for the next visitor. Our Christmas cards sit in a star shaped wire basket by the front door. Scarfs are displayed on hooks for a wintery look. A touch of frost on the windows might not be the best sign (our windows are vintage 1932, and not very energy efficient), but it does add a bit of charm!

Last, but not least, my home is holiday-ready with the presence of Emmy, in her red collar, sitting sweetly by the Christmas tree. Merry Christmas from my Country Cottage!! Hope you enjoyed the tour…
